Music copyright expert witness Dr. E. Michael Harrington is visiting Minneapolis to share advice and ?war stories? from his work in connection with copyright infringement disputes. From his most recent work on behalf of artist Wiz Khalifa concerning an infringement dispute over the song ?Black and Yellow? to music disputes such as Michael Cotrill vs. Britney Spears, Dr. Harrington?s discussion will be both entertaining and engaging. Topics of discussion will include:
? The type of evidence that is convincing in a copyright infringement dispute ? including audio examples compiled by Dr. Harrington for real cases.
? How to choose an expert witness ? including what credentials and background to look for, potential red flags, and personality and psychological considerations.
? What goes right and wrong at depositions.
? Insights into working with attorneys from the expert?s point of view.
